Online Learning

Future students will benefit from Bedford Bytes, an online resource that supports and enhances educational opportunities at Bedford Museum and the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery. 

Created with local schools and Bedfordshire Schools Improvement Partnership, the online lesson plans, worksheets, images, teachers’ notes and interactives support and supplement museum sessions such as Toys of the Past and Mother Nature Designer.  

Pupils from partner schools helped to pilot the online resources and new museum sessions, and contributed examples of their work for the site. This gave them a sense of achievement, while helping to develop their skills in art, design, history and ICT.  

Museum staff are excited about making use of collections in new and imaginative ways, and are keen to extend e-learning.
