About Us

 MLA East of England – the Museums, Libraries & Archives Council East of England – is the key strategic agency for museums, libraries and archives in the region.   MLA East of England connects people to inspiration through access to museum, library & archive collections and resources –  building stronger communities, supporting learning and celebrating identity to benefit social and economic life in the East of England. 

There are over 250 museums and more than 200 archives in the East of England. According to our recent data, 80% of schools in the East of England had contact with the region's museums  and archives in 2003/6.

DCSF and DCMS recognise the significance by investing in major national strategies delivered throughout the region.
