Planning a Visit
Ideas and tools to help you plan a visit
There is an increasing emphasis on ensuring the safety of every child at all times. Consequently museums, libraries and archives are being asked to show that they take this responsibility seriously. MLA East of England has been working with SAFE (a Suffolk based organisation promoting Safer Activities for Everyone) – to develop clear guidelines for child protection for all staff, paid and unpaid. Click on http://www.safenationalstandard.co.uk/ to visit the SAFE website.
http://www.teachernet.gov.uk/emergencies/planning/educationalvisits/index.html has information on planning and leading educational visits and guidance on the health and safety implications and procedures.
